Gary… I agree. In reading the initial comments, I thought “am I reading the same article?” I didn’t see anything above pointing at the fact that there will or will not be an apocalypse… just a brilliant article noting the powerful metaphor and the potential to use this metaphor in our own lives to grow.

Vincent – I don’t know what “real truth” has been presented. I don’t see any scientific facts or references in this article. I believe that I am missing something.

KJ – Rather than just making a unsubstantiated statement why don’t you share what you know to be fact of why this is not going to happen? ie. Proof. Don’t claim such a statement if you don’t have rebuttal facts. The real ‘truth’ has already been presented with scientific facts and anomalies which is more than what you’re saying. Sorry, but you don’t have a leg to stand on so far.

**Nothing** is going to happen in 2012 that’s extra ordinary. Life will continue as it always has. If anyone thinks that something remarkable is going to occur because of the Mayan calendar, I’m sorry for them. Bolt’s of lightning won’t come from the sky. People will not blink their eyes and “wake up”, or be enlightened. This only happens slowly, with a lot of effort, on an individual basis.

I realize people have a need to believe that someone or something else will save us from ourselves, but that will **not** happen. Only we can do that for ourselves, thus each other.

It starts by being a good person and doing good things, and grows from there.

Sorry folks. Just like all those other times when “the end was nigh” – or whatever, **nothing** in 2012 will be earth shattering. It’ll be another year, just like the ones past, only a little better.

Start bringing change about now. Be good. Do good. Don’t wait for 2012.
